Medical Help & Support

Contact the Herpes Helpline

We run a tollfree Helpline to speak to an experienced, non-judgemental nurse counsellor: 0508 11 12 13 from a landline or 09 433 6526 from a mobile. We also respond to email queries via [email protected].

All calls and emails are kept completely confidential.

Please note our Helpline is for Aotearoa New Zealand residents only.

Our Helpline is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (closed weekends and bank holidays). If you do not reach us, you can either try again later, or leave us a message with your first name only, number and when you'd like us to try and call you back.

Email enquiries will be responded to within 5 working days. Occasionally, our team will need to consult with other experts regarding your enquiry which may delay our response - if this is the case, we will let you know.

If you need urgent wellbeing support and our team is not available, you can find a list of alternative helplines here.

What if I can't call during your opening times?

If its not possible to ring during our opening hours, it may be possible to arrange a phone call out of hours. To do so, you can call us and leave us a message, using your first name only, your number, and when you would like us to try and call you back. Alternatively, you can send us an email via [email protected].

Sexual health services

If you think you may have genital herpes you need to see your GP, sexual health clinic or other health care provider. Sexual health clinics provide a specialist, confidential, free or low-cost service.

Visit our sister website, Just the Facts, which hosts a comprehensive database of sexual health clinics and sexual health providers in New Zealand.
